They can be taken away from the mom around 3-4 weeks of age. If the mother and father were not separated BEFORE the litter was born, she may actually be pregnant again, and will give birth 3 weeks after her first litter. Make sure to separate all pups into male and female groups before 6 weeks of age, or they will ALL breed with each other!! Each mom can have a dozen pups, so you do the math. That’s a lot of pups in a very short amount of time. Males have a larger ano-genital space (space between the genitals and anus) and females have a much shorter one. If you hold the pups up by the tail, supporting the body with your other hand, you can look under the tail and compare males from females. Also, around 10 days of age, when they all have a good amount of fur, you can see that the females will have 2 rows of 6 nipples (12 total). This is a bit more easy to sex them than ano-genital distance, as males do not have any nipples! Good luck to you!!

about five weeks. they won’t be weaned until then but make suure that you seperate them at that point so that you don’t wind up with litters from the females.

For the sex of very young mice may be difficult for the beginner and have their eyes open when you got her some very young mice is often helpful to leave mom determining the sex of littermates obviously if mouse had babies its femalethe other is accomplished by.
